A valuable creature is being attacked and destroyed all across the United States.  The once common ground mole is being poisoned, stabbed, and unmercifully killed by homeowners.  The lovable, furry creature with webbed feet is losing habitat wherever green lawns exist.   

The mole provides a needed service for lawns.  It aerates the lawn by digging tunnels, providing needed oxygen to help produce nitrogen and allow the flow of rain and water deep into the lawn. The mole eats grubs, thus removing insects.  The mole is proud of its work, even leaving small mounds above its home so homeowners will know where it lives and protect its habitat.

Here is a picture of a common mole killing device.  Humans activate the device by locking a strong spring which is attached to three metal spikes.  The device is placed just above a known mole tunnel.  As the mole moves through the tunnel to aerate the lawn, it activates a trigger which then with great force and suddenness, impales the three metal spikes into it cuddly, furry body.  If not immediately killed, the impaled mole may struggle for hours before dying.

So my friends, become friends with the moles in your yard!  Make a mole your personal pet, give it a name, and take it for a walk as the picture on the left depicts.  Don't be a murderer, SAVE THE MOLE.
