“Our Soldier Boy” was written in memory of Ralph Bronson who died on “D” Day July 1944 during WW2. Ralph went to school with my dad, and stayed at my grandmother's home for some time.

Our darling brother has left us
The master has called him home.
To the beautiful place he had prepared
And we are alone.

His life on earth was so lonely
Bit he tried to make burdens light.
By always observing the Sabbath
And attending the church at night.

Always gentle, kind and true
Cheering others when they were blue.
No father or mother was left to pine
The parting of one whom is left sublime.

We know the gates were open for him
No purer sound could enter within.
Days will be lonely the hours long
No more to hear his evening song.

As the years go by we'll never forget
All his kind words and loving deeds.
His memories still linger and always will
We know he
's at rest just over the hill.
