LITTLE TREASURERS

"Little Treasurers" was written to commemorate the birth of my cousin Evelyn and my brother in 1946.

Two little darlings with dimple chin
In 1946 came rushing in.
One a boy the other a girl
With laughing blue eyes and hair in a curl.

The fathers are brothers
As we all know.
It was no surprise
They arrived just so.

The first a boy as the Doctor ordered
Arrived in time to play with his brother.
The other a girl so big and cherry
Came walking in on the 2nd of February.

We'll treasure their smiles
Their frown and their tears.
As they journey through life
With each passing year.

Although they are cousins
And like Cupids dart.
We hope they
'll never
Be drifted apart.

These little poems I made in a rhyme
For a boy and a girl arrived each time.
The next time Old Stork please bring them alike
So I can write the same about each little tike.
